Representatives from the seven teams of the 11/12 year old boy division of Teaneck Baseball Organization joined together for a TBO All Star Game on Monday, June 20. Split into two teams, the boys enjoyed a fun game competing against top peers in their age group. Coach Ari Eckman helped organize this enjoyable evening to end the TBO spring season. TBO 11/12 Championship Game

The 11/12U TBO Championship game featured a matchup of the top two teams in the division as Camp Lavi faced off against Knoll Orthodontics.

Despite Knoll Orthodontics’ rocky start, beginning the spring with a 1-3 record, the team had a great season. With two of their players, Eli Staum and Dovid Reichman, on the DL, Knoll was down to just 9; every player’s attendance and performance became that much more instrumental in putting together a strong second half. Regular weekly practices helped the players settle into their respective positions as the team improved to a 7-4 record and a second place regular season division finish. Gotham Burger Sportstar of the Week Daniella Shlagbaum

The Jewish Link of New Jersey and Gotham Burger would like to recognize 13-year-old Daniella Shlagbaum as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. Daniella just completed a terrific season as the goalie of the Yavneh Redhawks. Her last year as a middle school goalie showed her toughness battling and overcoming early season ankle issues and a concussion. Perhaps her most amazing game (so far), occurred in the semifinals vs. Ramaz. Yavneh and Ramaz finished the season with identical 5- 2 records in a virtual tie for second place. Shlagbaum took a beating, because most of the game was played near the Yavneh goal. But she denied every shot on goal, securing a 1-0 victory for Yavneh and a trip...
