What the Kinect motion-sensing device did for the Xbox game console, Israeli startup Umoove proposes to do for your mobile. You won’t have to move your whole body—only the parts from the chin up—to play games, scroll down a page or dial your mother.

Internet Security/Safe Surfing

Several years ago we took a family vacation to Mystic Ct. (worth going, if you’ve never been) I had an itch to use the computer in their so called “business office.” I launched Internet Explorer (which I personally don’t use but it was the only browser installed) and it opened to the last page visited. It was an online casino. When I first saw the poker tables and cartoon like characters sitting at the tables, I thought it was a fictitious game site. “Food bloggers are the second largest community in the blogosphere,” says the 40-year-old Shahar. “With our plug-in, when bloggers want to add a recipe to a WordPress post, they just click a...

“What an honor,” the company writes on its blog. “2013 marks the first time we’ve even been nominated, and we were in such great company.”

The Global Mobile Awards competition took place at the...

When they launched the system the next day, all the patient records were gone!  All their patient data, appointments, financials, contact information—everything —deleted from their patient management system.

The good news, I was told, is that they backup nightly to a USB flash drive so we can just restore all the...
