JKHA Sixth Grade Marks Torah Learning With Siyum

JKHA sixth grade students were treated to a special siyum lunch celebrating the occasion of their completion of the entire Mishnah Berachot and marking the start of their Gemara learning which will begin in seventh grade.Students heard inspiring words from Rabbi Chaim Marcus of Springfield, recited the customary Hadran, danced in celebration with their rebbeim and morot, and began learning the first few lines of Gemara. Students left feeling proud of their accomplishment, recognized the kavod haTorah (honor of Torah) that they were a part of and are excited to embark on the journey of learning Gemara next year.

Camp Chaverim is the observant division of the Union Y Camp program, located at 501 Green Lane in Union.

RYNJ Torah Dedication Honors Rabbi Dr. Horn

Members of the Rosenbaum Yeshiva of North Jersey family showed their appreciation to their beloved Judaic Studies Principal, Rabbi Dr. Harvey Horn, for his many, many years of Torah leadership in a most appropriate way. They all joined together in tribute to dedicate a sefer Torah in his honor. Rabbi Horn is retiring this year and students (past and present), faculty members, RYNJ families and lay leadership participated in a beautiful Hachnasat Sefer Torah celebration as they brought the sefer Torah to its permanent home at RYNJ.

Ben Porat Yosef Walkathon Closes Successful Year

Hundreds of BPY families and friends joined in the school’s Annual Scholarship Walkathon. The event was a celebration of a fabulous year. Families came together, walked, enjoyed races, a tumbling show, face painting, arts and crafts and delicious refreshments. Over $125,000 was raised for much needed scholarship funds so that a BPY education is accessible to all who seek it.
