Becoming a bat mitzvah is an important milestone in the Jewish tradition as it is a time when a young girl is welcomed into both womanhood and adult Jewish life. While it happens automatically, there is something special about marking this milestone by having a celebration – either an intimate gathering with close family and friends, or perhaps a larger ceremony. For many girls within our community, that comes with a nice party dress, words of Torah and a day dedicated to acknowledging the bat mitzvah’s growth from a young girl into a soon-to-be adult. TABC Commencement Draws Standing-Room-Only Crowd

Nearly 1000 parents, family, students, faculty, alumni and friends joined in the graduation ceremony of the TABC class of 2016 last week. They heard addresses from Rosh HaYeshiva, Rabbi Adler, valedictorian Eli Hyman and salutatorians Aaron Fishkind and Netanel Shedlo. Zachary Orenshein and Eli Hyman shared their siyum on Massechet Brachot with the class. It was also the first time in the school’s history that TABC alumni are graduating their owns sons from their alma mater.

Ben Porat Yosef eighth grade students marched through the halls one final time before celebrating their graduation on Wednesday, June 15. As they took their tour proudly dressed in their caps and gowns, the younger students, from early childhood through seventh grade, cheered for their older role models, while the graduates gave out high fives, hugs, and words of wisdom.
