Accepting the Unique Temperament of Your Child

“Each of us shines in a different way, but this doesn’t make our light less bright.”

—Unknown

“Try to see your child as a seed that came in a packet without a label. Your job is to provide the right environment and nutrients and to pull the weeds. You can’t decide what kind of flower you’ll get or in which...

These Walls Have Words

Today, I went to the bathroom and committed the crime of wanting to go in alone. My toddler wanted to enter with me to observe this procedure, to ask questions about it and to help me with the toilet paper, but shockingly, I’d rather not have any spectators or helpers in this arena. He didn’t like this executive decision and in order to show his disapproval, he slammed his toy vacuum cleaner against the door and the frame, several times. I would also like to add that he carries around a giant set of keys that dangle from his pocket on a daily and evening-ly basis, and he thinks the keys are magic in that they can open any lock in the world. The motor panel from the jacuzzi. The...

In my work as a clinical therapist, I treat patients who struggle with anxiety and depression, as well as a host of other life stressors such as grief from the loss of a loved one or even loss of employment. Special Exhibits Abound at Liberty Science Center

E-mail Print PDF
While STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programs have skyrocketed in popularity over just the last few years, Liberty Science Center (LSC) has been dedicated to bringing the excitement of science to people of all ages since it first opened in 1993. The museum always has plenty to see and do, but it is hosting some particularly exciting limited-time exhibitions this summer.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Secrets of the Sewer

Your kids might not expect to find everyone’s favorite “heroes in a half shell” at a science museum, but LSC is the first stop on this exhibit’s first-ever national tour, and will be here through September 5. Your whole family will have the...
